ADAM MATTHEW MCLAUGHLIN, 27 - passed away unexpectedly on December 14th, 2013. Adam was born on August 8, 1986 and raised in Brigantine, NJ. He attended Holy Spirit High School and Dixie State University. His life was anchored on the water from an early age where he learned to navigate the world. Realizing his lifelong dream, he traded in the highways for waterways and sailed across many parts of the world as a Merchant Mariner aboard the Maersk Missouri. Adam was a USCG licensed Captain at his family's business, Sea Tow Atlantic City and Marco Island. He was a dedicated member of Local 25 and the Seafarers International Union. Despite his own struggles, Adam was greatest known for his heart and willingness to put others ahead of himself. His compassion was a gift to all of those he met. Adam was happiest spending time with his family and will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
Adam is survived by his loving parents John and Sandra (nee Clark) McLaughlin; brother Eric McLaughlin and sister in-law Jennie; nephew Eric and niece Reese; grandparents Alexander and Marilyn; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
