Adelaide Cosmi Burroughs

Adelaide Cosmi Burroughs, 85, of Margate City, passed away peacefully at Riddle Hospital in Media, Pennsylvania on May 1, 2014. Born and raised in Atlantic City, Adelaide was a long-time resident of Margate. She was a graduate of Holy Spirit High School and former employee of Bell Telephone Company. She enjoyed various volunteer activities in her community and loved the beach, walking, dancing, and spending time with her family.

Adelaide is predeceased by her first husband, Anthony Cosmi, of Philadelphia. Adelaide was remarried to Robert Burroughs of Galloway for 10 wonderful years, before his passing in 2012. Adelaide is survived and will be greatly missed by her children, Toni Cosmi Karpa of Florida, and her son, Anthony Cosmi of Pennsylvania, as well as her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Cosmi of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Karpa- Rowell, Kristofer Karpa, and Nicholas Cosmi, as well as two great grandchildren, Chloe and Colton Rowell. Adelaide is also survived by her sisters and brother of the Atlantic City area- Rosemary Tobiasen of Margate, Georgia Simpson of Galloway, and George Collinsgrove, of Ventnor.

Visitation will be 8:45-10:45 A.M on Wednesday May 7, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A funeral mass will be offered at 11AM in the church.
