Herzig Jr., Albert D., 75, of Egg Harbor City, passed away May 2, 2018. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he lived in Egg Harbor Township for 21 years before moving to Egg Harbor City 3 years ago. Albert was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a union carpenter for many years, working at the Salem Nuclear Power Plant as well as all around the Atlantic County Area. Later he worked for 10 years with Tropicana Casino where he was a manager of valet parking. He also had his own business of power washing and staining decks. In his free time, he was an avid fisherman and he was a member of Mainland Baptist Church in Galloway.
He is survived by his wife Carline (nee Brummett) Herzig; his step-children, Kenneth Ray Brummet, Anita Ann Poma, Timothy Wade Brummet and Dawn Marie Falls; his sister, Margo Conroy; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be 10AM to 11AM on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Mainland Baptist Church, 512 S. Pitney Rd., Galloway, where a service will be offered at 11AM. Burial with military honors will follow at Atlantic County Veteran’s Cemetery in Estell Manor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mainland Baptist Church at the above address.
