Alexander C. Clark III “Al” – of Brigantine, lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on Saturday March 9th, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 20th, 1949 in Philadelphia, Pa. Al attended Frankfurt High School and was an accomplished runner and swimmer.
After high school, Al joined the trades as part of Local 322. He met and married his loving wife of 38 years, Lorraine (nee Inverso) and began raising his family in Brigantine. A proud father, Al coached baseball and later became the president of the Hermit Club at St. Augustine High School. Al retired in 2006 from Falasca where he made many close friends. More recently, Al worked for Kline Construction until his health no longer allowed him to do so.
He will be dearly missed by his wife and parents Al and Marilyn Clark, of Brigantine. Devoted father of Tara (Joe) Price, Alex (Julie) Clark, and loving grandfather of Jenna, Jolynn, Alexander, Julianna, Trevor, and Mia. He also leaves three adoring sisters Marilyn (Wayne) Korte, Sandy (John) McLaughlin, and Janice (Neil) Anderson and many nieces and nephews.
Al was a true family man. He loved to fish and traveled to many places with his wife over the years. He also enjoyed visiting with his sisters and their families at Sea Tow, where his presence will truly be missed. But his greatest love was family dinners and just being surrounded by his six grandchildren. Al faithfully attended every sporting event, recital, and competition. We will cherish the memory of him and there will always be a spot for “Poppy” in the stands.
“No longer by our side but forever in our hearts.”
