Allan S. Booth, Sr., 82, of Absecon, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013, at Atlanticare, Mainland Division. He was born in Atlantic City and grew up in Margate. He has lived in Absecon for over 60 years. Mr. Booth was a US Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a line repairman working for New Jersey Bell in Pleasantville for 36 years, retiring in 1992. After that, he worked for Bayside Communications in Absecon, installing communication lines at various casinos. He was a member of the Masons Lodge and the Absecon VFW, Post 9462. His hobbies included bowling, fishing golf, card games and going to the casinos. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan.
He is predeceased by his wife, Georgie Booth in 2009. He is survived by his children, Allan S. Booth and Roger W. (Kristie) Booth, both of Mays Landing and Richard G. (Debbi) Booth of Wilmington, DE; his sister and brother, Margie Showell of Absecon and Ron Booth of Linwood; and his grandchildren, Danny, David, Chris, Kevin, Tyler and Cassie.
Visitation will be 6PM to 8PM, Friday, October 4, 2013 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will be conducted at 7:30PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Atlanticare Hospice, PO Box 1626, Pleasantville, NJ 08232.
