Allen J. Clayton, Sr., 78, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, June 20, 2015.Born in Northfield, he grew up in Pleasantville and was a long time resident of
Galloway. Allen was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. After the war, he returned home and became a printer for The Press of Atlantic
City, where he worked for 18 years, before retiring. Allen then started working
part-time for Marriott Seaview Resort as a locker room attendant for the next 12
years, finishing his career there in 2000. After retirement, he was able to
concentrate on his favorite things. He enjoyed watching the STEELERS and the
PHILLIES. He was passionate about hunting , horse racing , and golf . His
favorite hobby was collecting golf balls. He loved spending time with his family, his grandchildren, and especially his beloved dog and best buddy; CODY !
Allen is survived by his sons, Allen J. (Erica) Clayton, Jr. and Dean Clayton; his
sister, Margie Rudnick; his grandchildren, TJ and Alayna Clayton; and his former wife and good friend, Nancy Clayton.
Visitation will be 10AM to 11AM, Thursday June 25, 2015 at Parsels Funeral
Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will immediately follow at
11AM. Burial will follow at Laurel Memorial Park, Egg Harbor Twp. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society,
