Obituary For Almeida 'Al' Lois Sandt
Sandt, Almeida “Al” Lois (79) of Dorothy, NJ went home to be with the Lord with her family by her side the afternoon of January 4, 2025. Almeida was born to Elmer and Ivy Stout on March 16, 1945. She spent her younger years in Egg Harbor City and Mays Landing, NJ. She is survived by her beloved son James ‘Bob’ Merlock (Linda); as well as her younger sister Debbie Abrams; and sister-in-law Char Stout. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, whom she treasured so dearly in her role as ‘Nana’; Jennifer Merlock and Heather Ingersoll (Parker) and as ‘Great Nana’ to her great-granddaughter, Audrey. Almeida also is survived by numerous nieces, a nephew, and many other family and friends whom she cared for dearly. She was predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Ivy; and her brother Doug Stout.
Almeida was a self-proclaimed Jack-of-all-trades and would tell you stories of all her past projects, jobs, crafts, and endeavors over the years; she always had a use for everything. Through her working years she was a lab tech, a realtor, a bank teller, residential aide, and worked as a caterer for weddings/events; amongst many other roles. She always was cooking or baking or could be found sifting through patterns and yarn to crochet her latest creation. If she wasn't cooking or crocheting, she was most likely reading a book, especially the Bible, her favorite book of all. Almeida enjoyed staying informed with current news and watching old movies. She had a special connection to animals and had numerous cats and dogs through her life all of which she loved dearly.
Almeida gave her life to the Lord and was a beautiful example of sharing love and light to everyone she encountered, always sharing a story or putting others before herself. She will be missed by all, but we can rejoice in the fact that she is no longer in pain and is with our loving Father in heaven. Please join us in a celebration of Almeida’s life on Saturday, January 11, 2025. A viewing will be held at 10 AM at Parsels Funeral Home, located at 324 New Jersey Avenue, Absecon, NJ 08201. Service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Absecon United Methodist Church Cemetery located at 100 Pitney Road, Absecon, NJ 08201. In Lieu of flowers please donate in Almeida’s memory to a charity of your choice. For online condolences, please visit www.parselsfh.com
