Obituary For Barbara Louise Hamblin
Hamblin, Barbara L. (nee Aliantro), left this earthly world November 15, 2016, to be with the Lord, after a long, hard battle with many medical conditions. She was the daughter of Frank and Nan Aliantro (now deceased), of Atlantic City and Brigantine. She was also the proud mother of her children, David Knauff (Patty) and Joanne Knauff, both of Brigantine and Susanne Knauff of Absecon; proud grandmother of David Knauff Jr. and KAli Knauff, also of Brigantine; her brother, Frank (Betty Lou) Aliantro Jr; nieces, Lisa (Ed) Sooy and Stacey (Steve) Grimmie; two nephews, Thomas and William Grohs of Brigantine; her cousins, Alfred and Richard Potter of Ocean City and Hawaii; and four grandnieces and nephews, all of EHT;
Barbara was born in Atlantic City on Christmas Day in 1936. She attended local schools and was a 1954 graduate of ACHS. She enjoyed summers on the beach and winters ice skating at Convention Hall. She moved to Brigantine in 1952. She received her diploma and state board license as an RN from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. She enjoyed nursing for 48 years in several local facilities, until retiring to tend for her elderly parents. After their deaths she moved to her final home in Absecon.
A gathering will be 10AM to 11AM Monday, November 28, 2016 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 331 South 8th Street, Brigantine, NJ. A memorial mass will be offered at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (https://donate.nationalbreastcancer.org/) or The American Diabetes Association (https://donations.diabetes.org).
