Bernard J. Lavigna

La Vigna, Bernard J. 85, of Absecon, passed away peacefully February 15, 2017, surrounded by his family. Born in Atlantic City, he was a resident of Absecon for 59 years. Buzz was a US Navy veteran, serving two tours in the Korean War. He served his country and family with honor. He worked with Atlantic City Electric for 35 years as a storekeeper, retiring many years ago. He was a member of the VFW Post #9462, and the American Legion Post #28, both in Absecon. In his free time he was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting. He was a musician ‘of all strings’. He played in multiple orchestras and also played in the Mummers parades.

He is predeceased by his wife, Mildred in 2014 and his son David in 1987. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Sherry La Vigna and Bob and Tina La Vigna; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11AM to 1PM Monday, February 20, 2017 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will follow at 1PM. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township.
