Bernice Burroughs

Bernice Bakely Burroughs, 88, of Absecon died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, of Alzheimer's disease

She was born in Hammonton on July 10, 1925, and raised in Absecon. She graduated from Pleasantville High school and was an active member in the local girls club.

Bernice worked for Ward Baking, Woolworths Five and Dime, Prudential, NJ Bell Telephone and Sears.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years Charles Burroughs and her two children; Donald Burroughs of Absecon, Jackie Heinz of Port Republic, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild

Bernice had many hobbies including needle point and crochet. She loved cats and travel.

She had many friends and will be missed by all.
