Bette L. Moore

MOORE, BETTE LOUISE 68 - of Galloway Twp., NJ passed away on February 5, 2014 at home after a short but valiant and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Bette was born in Pittsfield, MA. She graduated from Pittsfield High School and at age 18, enlisted in the United States Navy. After recruit graduation, she was sent to Naval Air Station Le Moore California, where she met and married her husband Stephen on April 9, 1965. Both she and her husband were Honorably Discharged in 1965. They moved to Absecon where her husband joined 177th Fighter Wing. In 1978, they moved into their new home in Galloway Twp.

Bette was employed in the Absecon Schools as a Teachers Aide then went to Showboat Casino for 23 years as a dealer where she was respected and loved by all.

Bette was a loving, nurturing, devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Bette supported and was involved in her husband’s military career, supporting the 177th Fighter Wing for over 37 years. “They Too Also Serve”. She deeply loved her family, very special friends, Blue Birds, her garden…and especially her grandchildren.

She is the beloved wife of 48 years to Stephen; devoted mother of Stephen Jr., Kathy (Edgardo), Christina (Jason), loving grandmother of Justin, Kayleigh, Donovan, Kaitlin, and step- granddaughter, Miranda. She leaves behind her sisters Maryellen (Bill Bancroft), Doris, (Bill Dusenberry), Beverly (Mike Norton), Rosemary, and brothers Richard (Sandy Gero) and Donald Gero as well as Sisters-in-Law Vicki (Dean Somers) and Linda Perkins and Brother-in-law Richard Moore.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at Beacon Evangelical Free Church, 420 S. 6th Ave., Galloway, on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 4PM. Interment will be family only.
