Betty A. Pettit

Betty A Pettit, age 91, passed away in her sleep on October 21, 2015.

Betty was born June 9, 1924 to Joe & Marie Devine in Atlantic City, NJ and was a long time resident of West Atlantic City. She graduated from Holy Spirit High School, married Tom Pettit and retired from Prudential where she worked with her dear friend, Juanita Drinks. Betty loved poetry, dancing, loved to travel and especially gardening. She had the most beautiful rose gardens, hydrangeas & gladiolus.

She is survived by her 4 children, Tom Pettit, Barbara (Butch) Hamilton, Denise (Sam) Boney, Dan (Lisa) Pettit, 11 Grandchildren, and many great Grandchildren, and her sister Fran Szwed. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tom; Granddaughter, Stacy Allen; brothers, Art, John and Joe; sisters, Helen Hiller, Marie Webb and Rita Gilmartin.

Funeral services will be held at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, on Saturday October 24, 2015 with viewing from 9:30AM to 10:45AM and the funeral mass offered at 11AM.
