Betty Jane Smallwood

Betty Jane Smallwood, 83, of Galloway, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016. Born

in Somers Point, she has lived in Galloway for over 50 years. She worked as a

receptionist for Dr. Rieck in Pleasantville, before staying home to raise her four

children. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, playing the slots at the casinos. If

you ever sat in her kitchen you would see her passion for the color red and her love

for anything pertaining to cats. She was lovingly called BJ by her friends. Music

was her true passion. Many years were spent with her husband and children

singing and playing various instruments. The love of music lives on in her

children.

She is predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Evan J. Smallwood; and her

brothers, James G. Nicholes and Donny Nicholes. She is survived by her children,

Bill (Donna) Smallwood, Brian Smallwood, April (David) Handel and Valerie Del

Pezzo; her sister, Mildred Inman; her 7 grandchildren, Diane, Billy, Kathy,

Brittany, Ryan, Emily and Anthony. Plus 2 great-grandchildren, Shawn and

Warren. .

Visitation will be 5PM to 7:30PM Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Parsels Funeral
