Carmine Charles ‘Buddy’ Balbo, aged 91, of Galloway, passed away peacefully, Friday October 14, 2022. He was born on December 6th, 1930, in Jersey City, NJ to Leonard Balbo and Nicoletta ‘Nellie' Balbo, nee Murolo, who both pre-deceased him. He later lived in Plainfield, Wayne, Lakewood and finally Galloway, NJ. He was a loving father, devoted husband, lifelong friend, Army veteran, My Hero.
In his youth, he served in the US Army 1952 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict, serving in Camp Gordon, GA. Afterwards, he graduated from Newark College of Engineering in Newark, NJ with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
Buddy was an Electrical Engineer at Lockheed Electronics in Plainfield, NJ for most of his career, working in vital areas of the United States defense industry. He also had a passion for music and was a piano-player and professional musician until he was 85. Yet he always found time to work around the house, play with and support his children, and have an eternally happy marriage.
Our Dad joins our Mom, Catherine Mary Balbo who passed away 2 years ago this October, married in 1951 and together for more than 70 years, now together forever. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Kay Balbo Hodoske. They are survived by son, Steven Leonard Balbo and daughter, Patricia Anne Balbo (William Bugzy Boyer), as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins, and his caretaker, Judith Johnson.
