Obituary For Carol A. Johnson
Carol A. Crisafulli Johnson, 79, of Absecon, NJ and formerly of Bridgeton, NJ passed away after a courageous battle against Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She was diagnosed on 6/13/2020 and passed away on 12/21/2024 at home with her loving family.
Carol was born in Bridgeton, NJ on May 29, 1945 and was the daughter of Patrick P. and Mary A. (Nasuti) Crisafulli. Carol is survived by her husband of 58 years, James D. Johnson.
A graduate of Immaculate Conception Regional School, she happily remained friends with her classmates over the years. She was a 1963 graduate of Bridgeton High School and was able to proudly say that she never missed a reunion. After graduation she attended Vineland Beauty Academy and worked as a beautician for 12 years.
After moving to Absecon she worked at Thom McAn for 6 years at the Shore Mall. Later she attended many courses from Rutgers University to acquire her position as Deputy Tax Collector where she worked for 30 years for the City of Absecon.
Carol also held the title of liturgical maintenance person for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church for many years. She proudly said she knew a whole town and a whole Catholic church. Carol was so proud to call Absecon her home.
Carol also enjoyed heading up committees at the church. She worked tirelessly on the Chicken BBQ for 40 years, being in charge for 20 of those years. She also headed up the Cookie Walk and Bus trips. Carol enjoyed traveling, walking, gardening, cooking, reading, watching the Phillies and Eagles, and time spent with her family and friends.
Her greatest achievement was her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, James D. Johnson and her daughter, Jennifer C. Saul (Bryan) all of Absecon, who were her guardian angels, always by her side and committed to helping her through her illness. Also surviving Carol were her loving grandsons, Aidan James and Brody Lee, who she loved unconditionally, and her favorite grandpups Archie and Obi. Finally, she is survived by her brother, Patrick Crisafulli; her sister-in-law, Ann; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, George Crisafulli; and sister-in-law, Linda Crisafulli.
Relatives and friends are invited to her gathering on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 9AM to 10:30AM at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, NJ followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Avenue Absecon, NJ.
