Caroline D. Hammell

Caroline D. Hammell, 80, of Absecon, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at home, surrounded by her family. Born in Philadelphia, she was a lifelong resident of Absecon. She worked for the First National Bank of Absecon for 29 years, retiring as assistant Cashier, in 1980. Thereafter, she worked for Howlett Hardware for 15 years as a clerk and bookkeeper. Her hobbies included knitting and crocheting. In her earlier years, she enjoyed traveling, camping, horseback riding and canoeing.

She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Hammell; her sons, Casey D. (Pattie) Hammell of Mays Landing and Curtis D. Hammell, of Absecon; her grandson, Curtis D. Hammell, Jr.; and her dog, Smitty.

Visitation will be 9:30AM to 11AM, Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will follow immediately at 11AM. Burial will follow at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Mays Landing. For online condolences please visit www.parselsfuneralhome.com.
