Obituary For Constantino (Gus) Elias

Constantino (Gus) Elias, 85, of Absecon NJ, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 9th, 2025. Born December 22, 1939, in Atlantic City NJ, he was the son of the late Angelo and Katherine Elias. He was a graduate of Atlantic City HS, and earned his Bachelor from Temple University. Gus was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam in the 15t Calvary Division (Airmobile). He worked for the FAA at numerous locations during his 36 year career as an electronics technician and Tech Ops NavComm supervisor, having been retired 26 years. He was active in his community as a Cub Scout leader, organizer of the Greater Atlantic Bluefish Tournament, and he enjoyed teaching boating safety courses as a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Through his love for fishing and boating, he held the NJ state wahoo title for several years and so named his boat. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Isolde (Battisti) Elias; his sons, Andrew (April) and Steve (Danielle); his five grandchildren, Stephanie, Angela, Bella, Nathan, Noah; and his great-grandchildren, Eliza, Olivia. He left us sooner than we would have liked but he made the community better and safer every day. He will be deeply missed by everyone that had the opportunity to know him. A gathering will be 10AM to 12PM on Saturday 1/18/25, at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave, Absecon. This will be followed by a brief burial service at the Atlantic County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Mays Landing. For online condolences, please visit www.parselsfh.com.

Gus was my brother's, Bill McLees, good friend growing up. As a child, I had a crush on him. When he went to Temple University, he brought home a Temple sweatshirt for me. I wore that shirt till it was a rag. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Peggy McLees Cantes

We Offer the Book of Memories™

Parsels Funeral Home offers what we consider to be the finest example of online memorials, the Book of Memories™. Created by an award-winning team of web developers and designers while being led by a funeral professional with over 25 years of experience, this online memorial is intended to provide your family with a permanent place to pay tribute to your loved one.

Far more than a traditional obituary—which is usually published only once and has no interactivity at all—the Book of Memories™ Memorial Website is a fully interactive archive of treasured photographs and stories remembered from their time spent with friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers.

You’ll be able to invite others to visit the online memorial, where they can upload images, share stories, write heart-felt messages of condolence, send a floral tribute to the funeral, or make a charitable donation in memory of your loved one. And the built-in social media integration means they can then “spread the word” about their addition to your loved one’s Book of Memories™ using Facebook and Twitter.

We offer the families we serve a Book of Memories™ memorial website with the intention that it gives you a measure of solace and comfort during the coming months. To arrange for a Book of Memories® memorial website for your loved one, contact us today.
