Doris May Lowenstein, 86, of Mays Landing, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016. Born in Pleasantville, she grew up there before moving to Absecon, where she lived for 44 years, lastly living in Mays Landing for the past 10 years. Doris was a previous owner, along with her husband Jack, of Parsels Funeral Home in Absecon and Lowenstein Funeral Home in Galloway. She also was a 27 year employee with the Absecon Police Department, serving as a crossing guard, as well as matron and court assistant, before her retirement in 2008. She was very active in various organizations and community events, including Hooked on Fishing, in Absecon. Her family was very important to her and enjoyed the time she spent with them. Her favorite past time was shopping QVC. Their operators practically knew her on a first name basis.
She is predeceased by her Husband Jack in 2005 and her brother, James Happersett. She is survived by her sons, Chuck Faisst, Ronnie Faisst and David (Sherry) Lowenstein; her grandchildren, Caren, Dawn, Ronnie, CJ, Erica and Krystal; and her great-grandchildren, Kiera, Kayla, Sylvia, Ella and Lincoln.
Visitation will be 11AM to 1PM on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will immediately follow at 1PM. Burial will be at the Methodist Church at Absecon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Police Unity Tour, Inc., Chapter II, PO Box 8, Sea Isle City, NJ 08243.
