E. Evelyn Hayden “Ebbie” 87 of Absecon passed away in her home with her family by her side on September 3, 2011. Born on August 8, 1924 and was a lifetime resident of Absecon. She graduated from Pleasantville High School and shortly after married the love of her life Sherman F. Hayden. They were married 54 years. Ebbie was a lifetime member of the Absecon Methodist Church where she was once a Sunday school teacher and in later years enjoyed her lucheons with her “X,Y,Z’s”. She worked for the Absecon Bank as a bookeeper for many years and was a member of the Absecon Cresset Club. Some of her favorite things to do were making afghans, needlepoint, and crocheting things with lots of love for her family and friends. She enjoyed attending Bingo at Woodland Condominiums and visiting with her many close friends there. She enjoyed her weekly visits to the casino with her sister Ann. However, her most favorite thing was visiting with her family members which always brightened up her day. Ebbie was predeceased by her parents, Delaware and Ella Hood, her beloved husband, Sherman F. Hayden; and her brother, Delaware “Bus” Hood. Ebbie will be greatly missed but her life will be celebrated through all the wonderful memories she left us: Daughters Carol Campbell (Ralph), and Sharon Kollman (Frank). Sisters, Ann Cameron and Jean Morgan (Robert), Grandchildren, Carolyn Connolly, Laura Campbell, Michael Campbell (Maria), Jamie Nicholson (Daniel), Paul Kollman (Angie); Great Grandchildren, Molly, Jack, Charlie, Cole, Hayden, Hannah, Rosalie and our angel Grace. Also many in-laws, nieces, nephews and her wonderful friends. Visitation will be 10AM to 11AM, Thursday, September 8, 2011 at The Methodist Church at Absecon, Church Road at Pitney Road, in Absecon. A service will be offered at 11AM. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Methodist Church at Absecon, 100 Pitney Road, Absecon, NJ 08201 or the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, Atlantic City Rescue Mission, PO Box 5358, Atlantic City, NJ 08404. Parsels Funeral Home, Absecon, is handling arrangements.
