Mallett, Edward D., 57, of Galloway, passed away February 22, 2019. Born in Charlotte, NC, he grew up in Florida, living in Clearwater and Hobe Sound. He moved to Galloway in 1983. Edward worked as a systems engineer with Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City for many years, retiring last year. He also was a professional musician and drummer. He received his BA in music from the University of Florida. He toured with The Pretenders; Mark and Clark, Sal Richards, played in many local bands, such as Fundzalow, The Eddie Mallett Orchestra, his original swing band Kid Kasual, and the Mojo Swing.
He is survived by his wife, Georgiana DelGaizo-Mallett; his sons, David Mallett of Absecon, Christopher Mallett of Henderson NV; his step-daughter, Gabrielle DelGaizo (Bill Thompson, III); his father-in law; August DelGaizo, his brothers and sisters-in-laws, Tom and Candy Mallett; nephew Daniel Mallett of Port Charlotte, FL, Allen B. and Pam Mallett of Port Deposit MD; niece April Cournoyer, Virginia; and his three sisters-in-laws, Cathy Paul Williams of Estell Manor, NJ, Joy Coleman of Brigantine, NJ, Margie Dickerson Gaunt of Cape Coral, FL, his brother -in-law William Dickerson of Galloway, NJ; and his fur baby, Romey.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will be conducted at 8:30PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. For online condolences, please visit www.parselsfh.com.
