Emily Thomas

Emily L. Thomas, 96, of Absecon, born April 9, 1916 and died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family. She married Geroge W. Thomas, Sr. December 8 1932 in Egg Harbor City. She worked at Smithville Inn for 35 years and then was a housekeeper for Fred and Ethel Noyes until their passing. She was a faithful attendee and member of Egg Harbor Township Christian Church and Milmay Christian Church. She loved to travel to visit family, far and wide.

She is predeceased by her husband, George W. Thomas, Sr.; her son, George W. Thomas; her daughter, Janet E. Strickland Conover (Bud) and Catherine L. Thomas Andrews (Jack). Surviving are her 10 children, Mary C. Unsworth (James d.), Emily L. Brett (James d.), Elsie I. Knecht (Ernest d.), Kenneth L. Thomas (Alice), John E. Thomas (Margaret), Charles M. Thomas (Bonnie), Harry R. Thomas (Betty), Lucille G. Young (Craig), Howard L. Thomas (Peggy) and Herbert F. Thomas (Sandy). She is also survived by approximately 200 grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren.
