Eric James Newell

Newell, Eric James, of Galloway, NJ, was born September 24, 1930 in Toronto, Canada to Anne (nee Brown) and James Newell and passed away October 31, 2012. Mr. Newell was a VP and controller of Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, before his retirement. His memberships included Fellow Life Insurance Management Institute, Financial Executives Institute, American Institute of Corporate Controllers, NY Insurance Accountants Club (Chairman 1984), National Society of Tax Professionals, Royal Commonwealth Society, Loyal Orange Association (Past Master), Scotch-Irish Society of the USA (President 1999), American Legion, Master Mason, Presbyterian Deacon and committee member of Four Seasons at Smithville.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Essie (nee Miskelly) and his son, Eric Wayne; and his sister-in-law, Margaret Perley.

Visitation will be 1PM to 2:00PM, Monday, November 5, 2012 at Absecon Presbyterian Church, 208 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A Masonic service will be at 2PM with a religious service immediately after.
