Obituary For Evan Smallwood
Evan J. (Bill) Smallwood, 84, of Galloway, passed away peacefully at home, after taking his loving bride across the threshold one last time, Tuesday, August28, 2012. Born in Pleasantville, he was a lifetime area resident, living in Galloway for over 50 years. He was a dairy manager for 35 years with Food Fair in Northfield until they closed and then worked for 10 years with Shop Rite, Absecon until his retirement. He was a WW II army veteran where he served as a military policeman. He was a former recording secretary and on the union executive board for Local #1358 in Atlantic City. He was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed going to the casinos with his wife.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Jane (nee Nicholes); his children, Bill (Donna), April (David), Brian, all of Galloway and Valerie Del Pezzo of Absecon; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. We will miss his never ending smile and one-liners.
Visitation will be 11AM to 1PM Monday, September 3, 2012 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, NJ. For online condolences, please visit www.parselsfuneral.com.
