Obituary For Frank J. Hyland
Francis J. (Frank) Hyland, Jr., of Smyrna, DE, passed away November 9, 2021. He was born in Dunmore, PA on October 3, 1929. In 1946, he enlisted with the Regular Army. Frank served in Kyosho Japan, and the Occupation Army in Germany. He was discharged in January of 1952, receiving the Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp for his services.
In 1953, Frank married the love of his life, Angelina P. Humenay. In 1957, the two moved to Smyrna, DE, where he worked with Chesapeake Supply and Equipment Company of Dover, DE. After retirement in 1994, he started Frank’s Equipment Service, which he ran until 2006.
Frank and Angie were lifelong RV travelers. Both were members of the Delaware Good Sam Club and were founding members and officers of the Delaware Early Birds Camping Club. Both were also involved in amateur radio as members of the Kent County Amateur Radio Club.
Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife, Angelina in 2013. He is survived by four siblings and several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Visitation will be 3PM to 5PM on Friday, November 19, 2021 and 10AM to 11AM on Saturday, November 20 at Faries Funeral Home, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, DE. Graveside service will be Saturday, November 20 at 11:30AM at Odd Fellow’s Cemetery, Smyrna, DE. At the family’s request, no flowers please.
