Mohr, Frank Jr., 83, went home to Glory on August 1, 2022, at Jefferson Hospital Philadelphia due to complications following cancer surgery. Born in Philadelphia at Jefferson Hospital, Frank gave his heart to Jesus at the age of 12 and became active in Christian Endeavor at his church Bethany Church of the Brethren. After graduation from Jules E. Mastbaum High School Frank voluntarily enlisted in the United States Airforce and was stationed in Alaska when it became the 49th state, later in Florida, an experience he fully enjoyed. After an honorable discharge he returned home securing employment as a plumber, attending evening school “First Steps” at Philadelphia College of Bible (now Cairn University). When he enrolled in day school he met his future wife Joyce (Mills) sitting as they sat alphabetically in chapel as required by the college. He switched back to night school and was on the staff in the Maintenance Dept., graduating in 1969, moving to NJ and employed by the Atlantic City Rescue Mission as Youth Director, Plant Manager gaining seniority by longevity. In 1976 Frank was ordained and pastored 2 churches, Grace Bible Chapel, OC, and Leeds Point Community Church. In his retirement Mohr enjoyed TV programs especially mysteries and world wonders, gardening, whittling wood, sitting on the porch, feeding “Me Me” the squirrel, and chit chatting with neighbors. The couple is a longtime resident of Absecon, NJ blessed with 54 years together and 4 children: Frank III (Laura Kay Cobb); Joyce Caselli (Thomas); Sheldon; Jo El Thomas (husband-in-the-Lord Charles/”Bud”) and 14 wonderful grandchildren: Lydia, Frank IV, Timothy, Caleb, Violet Mohr; Jo El (Shelton), Deanna (Stephenson), Thomas Jr. Caselli; Lindsey, Joshua, Mandolin, Casey, Lily, Emileah Thomas; sister-in-law Nancy Bowen and ex-brother-in law Gordon/“Russ” Cruse; nieces and nephews. Frank is predeceased by his parents Frank Mohr, Sr. /Ruth (Wilkinson) Mohr and his sister Ruth (Cruse). All funeral arrangements are private by Parsels Funeral Home, Absecon.
