Doctor Franklin X. Loeb, age 76, of Galloway, NJ, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015. Frank was born in Hempstead, Long Island, NY. His parents, Franklin W. Loeb and Millicent Xander Loeb raised Frank in Somerville, NJ which is where he met his beloved wife Marjorie Stires. Love of Family, Religion, Service to his Country, Education, Pediatrics, and the Arts filled his life.

Frank was a graduate of Dartmouth College, Temple University of Medicine, and Cooper Hospital. He served the Marines as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy from 1961-1971. Serving in the Medical Corps., he was a MASH Surgeon in Vietnam from 1966-1967. His many awards for his service include: Navy Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action, Presidential Commendation, and Navy Commendation Ribbons, as well as Vietnam Campaign, Meritous Gallantry and Meritous Civil Medals, to name a few. He was very proud of his service to his country.

His professional career included early years at Bethesda Naval Hospital, Chief Neonatologist

at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, LA, Pediatrics in Carlsbad, CA, and Head of Pediatrics and Neonatology ICU in Atlantic City, NJ. Locally, he is well respected for his private Pediatric Practice in Absecon, NJ which he opened in 1978.

Religion was always very important to Frank and he was an active member of the Absecon

Presbyterian Church and served many years as an elder and on numerous committees. His love of travel shows in his beautiful photographs throughout his home. He could sit down at an organ or piano and play almost anything as well as picking up his guitar which he enjoyed endlessly. His most recent passion of the arts evidenced in his writing of novels and newspaper articles which gave him great gratification.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Marjorie S. Loeb of Galloway, a daughter, Virginia X. Loeb, a son, Christian Loeb and 3 grandchildren, and a niece, Lisa Stires Schuyler.

Visitation is Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Absecon Presbyterian Church, 208 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, NJ from 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service, 11-12 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parsels Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Absecon Presbyterian Church.
