Frederick F. Ertel

Ertel, Fred, born Aug. 11, 1961, passed away September 12th, 2017 at the age of 56, surrounded by the family whom he dedicated his entire life to supporting, cherishing and loving. He passed peacefully and will be deeply missed by the family and community of which he was so deeply a part. Fred was a beacon of strength and joy who gladly and selflessly cared for his family until the very end. He is survived by his wife Kathy (Pulliza) Ertel, son, Joe Ertel, sisters, Leenie Ertel-Klickovich (Jim), Valerie Ertel-Blackman (Robert), brother, Joseph Ertel and his nieces and nephews Erica, Matt, Caycee, Bob, Brian and Sarah who knew him for the incredible person he was. Fred served in the US Navy for six years and received numerous decorations including the Navy Achievement Medal. He worked at the FAA Technical Center as a Computer Specialist for 23 years. A Celebration of Life in Fred’s honor will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17th at the VFW in Somers Point from 2-5 pm.
