Obituary For Gary C. Hickerson
Gary C. Hickerson, 77, of Austin, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at his home. Born in Paterson, NJ, he grew up in Mahwah, NJ and lived in Galloway, Mays Landing then West Creek, before moving to Austin, PA. He was a security guard for the Hamilton Mall before retiring. He was a veteran with the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam war.
Gary is predeceased by his father, Samuel Hickerson; his mother, Eleanor Cotto; his daughter, Laura (Hickerson) Riavez; and his brother, Samuel Hickerson. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Cooper (Dave Kushner) of Ocean City, NJ; brother, Chuck (Linda) Hickerson of Buena, NJ; sister, Nancy (Charles) Smyth of Coudersport, PA; sister-in-law, Bernadine Hickerson of Austin, PA; brother, Patrick (Rachel) of Mays Landing, NJ; and sister, Sandra Hickerson of Absecon, NJ; as well as 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 appearing later this year.
A celebration of life is planned on April 13, 2024, at 1:00pm to 3:00PM at the Cologne Volunteer Fire Company, 2870 Cologne Avenue, Mays Landing, NJ 08330. Online condolences may be placed at www.parselsfh.com.
