George John Lees, Jr., 33, of Smithville, NJ, passed away April 12, 2016. Born in Atlantic City, He grew up in Galloway before moving to Smithville with his fianc Helene Maxwell his “babies” and his beloved son, Aiden Lees his “Bud-Bud.” Several months ago he moved to Plymouth Meeting for a new job, that he loved, at NavPort as a Data Scientist; but, looked forward to coming home to Helene and Aiden. His other great gifts in life was the unconditional love received from his dear sister and mother. George attended Absegami HS and received his Bachelor in Computation Science, only weeks away from earning his Masters from Stockton University. His world revolved around Aiden, doing everything he could to provide for his family. He loved creating memories like going to the Ocean City Boardwalk, playgrounds, parks, and walks around Smithville hand-in-hand. He would often say, “Love is when the other person’s happiness is more important than your own.” He will be remembered for his kind and loving soul, his concern for others and his infectious laugh. He highly valued education and sought to inspire others through his example of going back to school. The sciences were a particular passion, especially physics, astronomy, and data science.
He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, George and Cecelia Lees and his maternal grandmother, Beatrice Mawhinny. He is survived by his son, Aiden Maxwell Lees; his fianc, Helene Maxwell; his parents, Karen (Rick) Coffey and George J. Lees, Sr.; his sisters and brother, Brianna LeFaucheur, Amy Lees and Jesse Lees; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
