LaRotonda, Giuseppe (Joe), 85, of Absecon, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on July 15th, 2023. Born on February 5, 1938 in Filiano, Italy. He went on to serve his country in the elite Carabinieri Police Force. In 1965 Joe and his wife Mattea left a beautiful life in Italy to live the American Dream. They settled in South Philadelphia where they started a family. Joe found work as he was a master carpenter and soon after opened his own contracting company. He was extremely successful and purchased their summer home “down the shore” in Margate. Joe loved being at the shore and in 1979 moved the family to Margate. He took great pride in the homes he built down beach along, with his sons.

Family was everything to Joe! He enjoyed striper fishing with his grandsons, teaching them the fine art of wine making, gardening, Soccer and sharing pasta dinners with all. He also enjoyed spending time at The Greenhouse and reminiscing with friends. Joe made such an impact on so many in teaching them how to become skilled craftsmen, as he was the Best!

He is predeceased by his parents, Vita and Donato LaRotonda; Brother, Carmen; and Sister-in-law, Anna Marie LaRotonda. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Mattea; and his children, Donato (Donna) LaRotonda, Pasquale LaRotonda and Vita LaRotonda; sister, Caterina (Nicola) Bruno; grandchildren, Joseph (Bobbi) LaRotonda, Nicholas (Julia) LaRotonda, Danielle (Clifford) Melder, PJ LaRotonda, and Margaret (Glenn) Cortese; great-grandchildren, RJ and Emma Jo LaRotonda, Donato LaRotonda, Mia, and Leonardo Cortese; niece, Milena (Lou) Caruso; and nephew, Marcello LaRotonda.

Visitation will be 9:45AM to 10:45AM on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM.
