DeGeorge, Helen (Stopa), 88 of Absecon, NJ, with a heavy heart and a blessing that God welcomed her to be with him on October 5, 2016. Helen fought a courageous battle with cancer for more than two years with her beloved sons at her side. Helen was born to Alexander and

Rose (Wetovich) Stopa in Moween, Pa on February 24, 1928. Helen worked in Cleveland, OH, as a waitress. There she met her husband of 62 years, who she married in 1949, the late James DeGeorge. After a short time they moved to Pleasantville, NJ. Helen was a receptionist for

many years at Dr. Schraeder’s office. She also, gave her time to be a C.C.D. teacher for 5 years at Church of The Assumption, a cub scout Den Mother, a volunteer to the church bazaars and probably best known as Aunt Helen to many children she baby sat over many years.

Helen is predeceased by her husband, James J. and her son, Michael. She is survived by her sons, James and his wife Debbie (Pashley), Dennis and his wife Debbie (Riccio) and Timothy; her grandchildren, Dominic DeGeorge and Danielle Douglas, Amy Winterbottom; her greatgrandchildren, Dominic, Lucas and GianCarlo DeGeorge, and Cameron and Kelly Winterbottom; and Gabriella Portillo, Timothy’s girlfriend, who showed great love and compassion to Helen.

Visitation will be 10AM to 11AM, Monday October 10, 2016 at Beacon Evangelical Free Church, 420 S. 6th Avenue, Galloway, with a service being conducted at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the church, at the above address. For online
