Obituary For Helen N. Fetter
Fetter, Helen N. (Nee Bevaqua), of Absecon, passed away February 12, 2024. She was born in New York, NY, on March 15, 1941, to Frank and Molly Bevacqua and moved to Atlantic County when she was two years old. She has lived in the Atlantic County area most of her life. She was a graduate of Holy Spirit High School in 1959. She graduated Georgian Court University with a bachelor’s degree in history and earned her Secondary State Accreditation in English from Glassboro State College. Helen enjoyed a 36 year career as a schoolteacher, having taught in several schools, including St. Anne’s in Keansburg, St. Francis in Metuchen, St. James in Red Bank, Our Lady Star of The Sea in Atlantic City, Chelsea Junior High School, Albany Avenue School and Ohio Avenue School, all in Atlantic City, retiring in 1999. Helen loved her students and considered teaching a privilege. Her philosophy was children are to be loved, respected, understood and valued. She practiced this during her years of teaching. She loved people and was passionate about helping animals.
She is predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Ronald Fetter. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Fetter; her grandchildren, Ryan Wenz and Meagan Wenz; and her great-grandchildren, Emma Wenz, Kennedy Stringer and Ava Wenz.
A gathering will be 9:45AM to 10:45AM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A funeral mass will be offered at 11AM. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue is PO Box 175, Brookside NJ 07926-0175.
