Howard W. Shenk

Shenk, Howard W., of Absecon, passed away Wednesday February 8, 2017. Born in Pleasantville, he’s lived in Absecon for over 61 years. He was a US Navy veteran. Howard worked with Atlantic City Electric Substation Department as a clerk for 38 years. He is a member of the United Methodist Church at Absecon and a past member of the Kiwanis Club, Lions Club and the Masonic Lodge, Charles Mann Lodge. He was also an active volunteer with the American Red Cross, working their blood drives. In his pastime, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating. He also enjoyed golf. His most cherished time was with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane M. (McDonel) Shenk; his children, Stephen (Kelly) Shenk and Sandy Cain; his grandchildren, Kaitlin and Danielle Shenk and Kevin and Benjamin Cain; and his most loyal companion, Flint.

Visitation will be 10AM to 12PM, Saturday February 11, 2017 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will be conducted at 12PM. Burial will follow at Laurel Memorial Park, Egg Harbor Twp. For online condolences, please visit www.parselsfh.com.
