Ida Degley

Degley, Ida (Dolly), - (Nee Adelaide Bocelle), 100, passed away in her sleep at Health Center at Galloway on May 4, 2017. Ida is predeceased by her husband, Frederick Degley; her parents, Anthony and Raffaella Bocelle; 3 brothers and their wives, Paul (Jean) Bocelle, Guy (Florence) Bocelle and Samuel (Martha) Bocelle; 2 sisters and their husbands, Caroline (Harry) Weeks and Marina (Vincent) Walsh. She is survived by her 2 sons, Frederick (Jane) Degley of California and Joseph Degley of Galloway Twp.; 1 brother, Anthony (Doris-nee Lingelbach) Bocelle of Galloway Twp.; 4 granddaughters, Andrea, Tina, Paula and Michelle; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, especially Mary Hill. Ida, known to all as Dolly, lived her entire life in the South Jersey Area, the last 50 years in Absecon. After her husband Butz died in 1975, she lived alone in her Sears & Roebuck house, watched over daily by her son Joe. She loved to sit in the warm sun, reading her favorite books, her ever present hat keeping the sun off her face. Her favorite pastime was crabbing, then savoring her fresh catch. A better cook will never be. Another of her fondest memories was as a crossing guard at the intersection of Church and Pitney in Absecon, children who are adults now, hopefully remember her. The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to Donna Degley. With her assistance and care, Dolly's life would never have gone to 100 years. A page could be filled with Dolly's history. It's better said that her history is in the people that knew her.Services are private with Parsels Funeral Home, Absecon.
