Jacqueline Alexander

Jacqueline Alexander, known as Jackie, 65, of Absecon, attended Central High School in Newark, New Jersey. Jackie worked for many years at Emeloid in Hillside New Jersey laminating credit cards but, her primary job and role was as matriarch. Jackie was a devoted mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and many more things; too many to mention. Her heart was huge, so huge that she was able to love all of her family and friends no matter what tribulations occurred. She was the most straight forward, loving nurturing women anyone would ever want to meet, she would curse you out unapologetically and love you unconditionally at the same time. She was a true teacher of life that never beat around the bush when delivering the raw and even sometimes painful truths. Her friends were like family, they were very special to her and she always made it her business to let us all know that we ALL meant the world to her! Her best friends of all were her children, and she was certainly theirs!

Her favorite pastime that she unable to do for a while was swimming so we know that the first thing she’ll do once the pearly gates open is jump in the pool! She also loved talking on the phone so much that all that knew her would pray that God has a great long distance plan. She really liked sports (especially when the Miami Heat were losing) and quoting movies when they correspond to the times in life.

She was a very independent woman whom did all things possible for family and friends. Her place in this world which will always be remembered was as our family’s matriarch and nurturer. She loved many and helped whoever she could whenever she could, when she couldn’t she found a way to help anyway.

She leaves behind 4 children; 3 daughters, Felicia L. Alexander-Scales, Sharon A. Alexander and Kecia S. Alexander, 1 son Stephen J.P. Sampson, 7 Grandchildren, Natasia E. Alexander-Scales, Ahmad S.Fields, Simia S.Alexander-Scales, Sirree Alexander-Scales, Ronnie K.Alexander, Aliyah Shalique Fields, and Latisha T. Alexander 7 Great grandchildren. 1 Sister Tauheedah Rasool, 2 Nieces Hafeesa Rasool and Monesha Saffold, 1 Sister in law Ruth Saffold and host of nieces, nephews, family and many friends; Ex-husband and lifelong friend Stephen Sampson; Extended sisters; Marion Higgs and Louise Johnson-Cooper, Barbara Jackson, Naomi Loftin, Josephine Brown and Ann Faison.
