James J. Reilly

James J. Reilly, III, of Absecon, died Friday, December 7, 2012, surrounded by his family. Jim began his military career in the Navy Reserve, then joined the Marine Corp, where he was the youngest to receive the rank of Sergeant and was featured in the Corps Leather Neck Magazine. He finished his military career in the 177th Air National Guard, attached to the Security Police with the rank of SMSGT. He was an excellent marksman and was on the pistol team in competition. He also was a police officer for the Absecon Police Department, serving with them for 10 years. Jim was an avid fisherman. He and his wife Barbara loved to fish and shoot together. He will be sadly missed. He was a wonderful husband, father and brother.

He is predeceased by his parents, James J. and Eva C. Reilly. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his 4 children, James IV and his wife Lisa, Shawn and his wife Lisa, Sherri and her husband Ed Gobbo, Rick and his wife AnnMarie and one step-daughter, Denise and her husband Karl Scheiter; six granddaughters, four grandsons, two great-grandsons; and his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Russ Reilly Polizzotti; as well as his nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10AM to 11:30AM, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A remembrance service will be conducted at 11:30AM.
