Obituary For James 'Jim' W. Johnson
James ‘Jim’ W. Johnson, 88, of Oceanville, NJ, passed away January 4, 2024. Jim was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was born, raised and lived his entire life in the town of Oceanville, NJ.
He was an electric motor repairman for Leister Motor until retirement. He was a veteran with the US Army, serving an overseas assignment in Germany. Over the years, he enjoyed traveling, working in the garage, restoring cars, ice skating, gardening, and spending time with his family. He was an avid Philadelphia Flyers fan and a Ford enthusiast.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Lester Johnson;, and his sisters, Madelyn Pierce and Charlotte Barber. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Vera (Johnson); his son, Gary, his daughters, Donna (Ernest) Cummings and Sherry (Timothy) Mangold; his sister, Phyllis (Delbert) Bowen; his two granddaughters, Dayna Carr and Tessa Hice; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Germania Cemetery located at 100 S. Vienna Avenue, Egg Harbor City, NJ.
