Obituary For Jean Marie Reed Goodman
Jean Marie Reed Goodman, 95, of Galloway, passed away May 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Charles and Margaret Yeager Reed. As a young child, she moved to Atco, NJ with her family. After marrying her late husband, George Goodman, she lived in Absecon for 71 years. Jean liked spending time with her family, baking, dancing, golfing, crocheting and playing pinochle. She had a soft spot in her heart for the Philadelphia Mummers. Jean loved babysitting her grand and great-grandchildren, along with many of the children from her old Absecon neighborhood. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Geroge Goodman. She was one of five siblings and is predeceased by her brothers, Charles Reed Enfield, Connecticut and James Reed of Atco, NJ. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Jean Hayes (Edward) and Karen Margaret Stinson (Ron), both of Galloway, NJ; granddaughter, Michelle Jean Hayes (Mark Flamini), of Swedesboro, NJ; grandson, Edward George Hayes (Rachel) of W. Dover, VT; three great-grandsons, Timothy and Brendon Coleman and Bryce Flamini of Swedesboro, NJ; her brothers, Robert Reed, Albion, NJ and William Reed of Mt. Laurel, NJ; and her many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 9:45AM to 10:45AM on Friday, June, 2, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A funeral mass will follow at 11AM. Burial will take place at Laurel Memorial Park, Egg Harbor Twp., NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in Jean’s name.
