Obituary For Jeanne Charters
Jeanne Charters, aged 84, of Egg Harbor City, passed away on June 26, 2024, at Atlanticare Hospital in Galloway, NJ. Born on April 6, 1940, at Newton Memorial Hospital, Jeanne lived a life rich in love, dedication, and craftsmanship.
Jeanne was the oldest daughter of Herman and Dorothy Mooney. She is survived by her beloved siblings: sisters, Rita Van Houton, Betty Robinson, Carol Ruffner, and brothers, John Mooney and George Mooney.
A devoted mother, Jeanne is survived by her daughters, Nancy Turner, Betty Truman and Cindy Pharo. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Charters. Jeanne’s legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Jeff Turner, Shawn Turner, Evan Turner, Nicholas Somers, Justin Somers, Angel Truman-Stitt, Crystal Lively, Keyara Truman, Frank Truman, Candice Whalen, James Pharo, Tamber Pharo and Shamin Pharo. She was also blessed with twenty-one great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
Jeanne was a proud graduate of Netcong High School in Netcong, NJ. She retired as the head of payroll at Seaview Marriott Resort and was the entrepreneurial spirit behind CNJ Enterprises, a woodwork and crafting business. Jeanne’s hands were seldom idle as she indulged in her passions for crocheting, knitting, sewing, and embroidery, creating pieces that will be cherished for generations.
A dedicated Baptist, Jeanne was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church in Netcong, NJ, where she met the love of her life and the father of her children, Charles Charters.
Jeanne Charters will be remembered for her boundless love, her artistic spirit, and her unwavering dedication to her family and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Jeanne's honor be made to the Crochet Guild of America (CGOA) at https://www.crochet.org/donations/, continuing her legacy of creativity and community.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 10AM to 12PM at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will follow at 12PM. Graveside service will be at Germania Cemetery, Egg Harbor City. For online condolences, please visit www.parselsfh.com.
