Jeanne Charters, aged 84, of Egg Harbor City, passed away on June 26, 2024, at Atlanticare Hospital in Galloway, NJ. Born on April 6, 1940, at Newton Memorial Hospital, Jeanne lived a life rich in love, dedication, and craftsmanship.

Jeanne was the oldest daughter of Herman and Dorothy Mooney. She is survived by her beloved siblings: sisters, Rita Van Houton, Betty Robinson, Carol Ruffner, and brothers, John Mooney and George Mooney.

A devoted mother, Jeanne is survived by her daughters, Nancy Turner, Betty Truman and Cindy Pharo. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Charters. Jeanne’s legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Jeff Turner, Shawn Turner, Evan Turner, Nicholas Somers, Justin Somers, Angel Truman-Stitt, Crystal Lively, Keyara Truman, Frank Truman, Candice Whalen, James Pharo, Tamber Pharo and Shamin Pharo. She was also blessed with twenty-one great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.

Jeanne was a proud graduate of Netcong High School in Netcong, NJ. She retired as the head of payroll at Seaview Marriott Resort and was the entrepreneurial spirit behind CNJ Enterprises, a woodwork and crafting business. Jeanne’s hands were seldom idle as she indulged in her passions for crocheting, knitting, sewing, and embroidery, creating pieces that will be cherished for generations.

A dedicated Baptist, Jeanne was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church in Netcong, NJ, where she met the love of her life and the father of her children, Charles Charters.

Jeanne Charters will be remembered for her boundless love, her artistic spirit, and her unwavering dedication to her family and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Jeanne's honor be made to the Crochet Guild of America (CGOA) at https://www.crochet.org/donations/, continuing her legacy of creativity and community.

We Offer the Book of Memories™

Parsels Funeral Home offers what we consider to be the finest example of online memorials, the Book of Memories™. Created by an award-winning team of web developers and designers while being led by a funeral professional with over 25 years of experience, this online memorial is intended to provide your family with a permanent place to pay tribute to your loved one.

Far more than a traditional obituary—which is usually published only once and has no interactivity at all—the Book of Memories™ Memorial Website is a fully interactive archive of treasured photographs and stories remembered from their time spent with friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers.

You’ll be able to invite others to visit the online memorial, where they can upload images, share stories, write heart-felt messages of condolence, send a floral tribute to the funeral, or make a charitable donation in memory of your loved one. And the built-in social media integration means they can then “spread the word” about their addition to your loved one’s Book of Memories™ using Facebook and Twitter.

We offer the families we serve a Book of Memories™ memorial website with the intention that it gives you a measure of solace and comfort during the coming months. To arrange for a Book of Memories® memorial website for your loved one, contact us today.
