Joan Irene Sage

Joan Sage (Hayden), 85, of Egg Harbor Twp. was received in the arms of Jesus on May 18, 2021. Joan was born on August 6, 1935 to her parents, Sherman Hayden and Leona (Lippincott). She was a kind-hearted person who was ready to lend a helping hand to all who needed help. She loved volunteering for many places, including CASA for children, Red Cross, and the senior center in EHT. Joan started a career as a secretary at Bartlett Chevrolet in Absecon while still in high school and continued after graduating, holding many positions in that field, including with Larry Smith Electronics and Spencer Gifts for over 25 years. She became a home health aide for Shorecare in her later years. She enjoyed taking care of those who older and homebound.

Joan is predeceased by her brothers and sister, Sherman Hayden (Ebbie), Bob Hayden (June) and Dorothy Conover (Curt). She is survived by her sister, Alice Smith; her 4 children, Donna Sage, Barbara Cummings (Bruce), David Sage (Wendy) and Paula Downam (Jim); also her 6 grandchildren, Jimmy Downam (Nicole), Amanda LoSasso (Jordan), Elizabeth Flaherty (Brian), Chelsea and Bruce Cummings and Dalton Sage; her 5 great-grandchildren, Roman Ezra and Rocco LoSasso and Kinsley and Eliana Downam.

Visitation will be 10AM to 11:30AM on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will follow at 11:30AM. Burial service will be at Laurel Memorial Park, Egg Harbor Twp. For online condolences, please visit www.parselsfh.com.
