Joan M. Margerum

Margerum, Joan Michalene, 80, of Absecon, passed away July 16, 2016. Born in Hamtramck, MI, she lived in California before moving to Absecon 25 years ago. Joan worked as an events coordinator with The Shops On Ocean One in Atlantic City for many years, before her retirement. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Absecon and previously had been a member of the Moose Lodge in Hamtramck. In her free time, she was always working on jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles, loved crocheting and was an avid reader.

She is predeceased by her husband, Jay Margerum; her parents, John and Marianna Brys; and her brother, Arthur W. Brys. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Brys Ura and Rose T. (Burt Bathurst) Brys; her close friends, Helen Fetter and Kathleen Bleau; as well as her cats, Louie and Romeo.

A gathering will be 10:15AM to 10:45AM, Thursday August 11, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00AM.
