Joanne E. Speirs

Joanne E. Speirs, 86 of Galloway, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016. Born in Roaring Spring, PA, she grew up in Claysburg, PA. She then moved to Atlantic City where she met her husband Robert. She and her husband finally settled in Pleasantville where they raised their family, moving to Galloway many years ago. She will be remembered for her kindness and concern for her family and friends. She would always open her home to her children’s friends when needed.

She is predeceased by her husband Robert Speirs, Jr. in 1997; her parents, Louis and Mary Antich; and her brother-in-law Ronald Ickes. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert (Maureen), III, Carl (Carol) and Jeffrey (Susan); her sister, Frances Ickes; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Bobby, Kelly, Taylor, Dylan, Remy and Valerie; her nieces and nephew, Christine, Karen, Denise and Ron Jr; many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews; and her soon to be great-grandson, Landon. The family wishes to acknowledge the staff and caring professionals at Bayview Cottage and Royal Suites nursing home for the care she received while residing at those locations.

Visitation will be 10AM to 11AM Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A graveside service will follow at 11:30AM to Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville. For online condolences, please visit www.parselsfh.com.
