John B. Petrella

Petrella, John B. 79, of Galloway, passed away on the morning of April 11, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at home and just 7 months and 6 days after his wife, Stella Petrella. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a long-term resident of Galloway. He married the love of his life, Stella Petrella on January 4, 1964. John was a veteran of the US Army. He worked for Bell System and was known as the “Candy Man” and “Pep” for 30+ years before retiring to take care of his grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family while hosting and cooking and especially loved his annual Christmas Eve pizza parties.

He is predeceased by his parents Michael and Wanda (Walenski) Petrella; brothers, Michael and Paul Petrella; his sisters, Lee Petrella and Edda Swec; and his beloved wife, Stella Petrella. He is survived by his sisters, Wanda Luke and Judy Costa; brothers, Walter and Arthur Petrella; three children, Stephen Petrella (Barbra), Michelle Rosen (Tim) and Christine Visconte (Joe); four grandchildren, Heather Adkisson (Josh), Anthony Visconte, Kayla Rosen, and Victoria Visconte; two great grandchildren, Blake and Mya Adkisson; and many nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 2PM to 3:30PM, with a memorial service immediately following at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. For online condolences, please visit www.parselfh.com.
