John Paul Greenwalt, 83, of Galloway, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Born in Norristown, PA, he’s lived in Galloway since 1960. Mr. Greenwalt was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Air Force. He worked as an air traffic controller with JFK Airport in New York, Greater Pittsburgh International Airport and Atlantic City International Airport. He also worked for the Department of Defense at the Naval Air Propulsion Center in Trenton. He was also known locally for having his own business, Craftsmen Furniture Services.
He enjoyed woodworking and sketching in his free time and was an avid sports fan, especially an Eagles and Phillies Fan.
He is predeceased by his parents, John P. and Helen E. (Rafferty) Greenwalt. He is survived by his wife, Lois (Burkett) Greenwalt; his step-son, Chris (Joy) Bednar; his brothers, James (Marie) Greenwalt and Paul (Fran) Greenwalt; his step-grandchildren, Michael, David, Joana and CJ (Suzanne); his nephews, John and Paul (Amy); and nieces, Gail and Cynthia.
Visitation will be 10AM to 12PM, Monday, January 12, 2015 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, NJ. A service will follow immediately at 12PM. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. For online condolences, please visit www.parselsfh.com.
