Petrick, Joseph Paul, 88, passed away October 31, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he grew up in the city before raising his family with Patricia McGrath, in Blue Bell PA. He later moved to Galloway, NJ with his wife Nancy, 17 years ago. He graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1954. He entered the US Marine Corp and was honorably discharged in July of 1959. He chose to enter the seminary in August of 1959. After being in the seminary for 2 years, he chose to leave there exploring other opportunities. He received his bachelor’s degree in English from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia in 1970.
In his free time, he was an avid athlete, being a member of the local clubhouse teams. He loved watching his Eagles, Phillies and Sixers while enjoying his TastyKakes. He cherished the moments watching his children grow up playing sports and he never missed a game. He coached all 3 of them in basketball.
Joseph is predeceased by his mother and father, Jean and Casimir Petrick. He is survived by his son, Joseph Paul Petrick (wife Leslie), his daughter, Shannon Petrick Zeidler (husband Joe), his son, Michael Joseph Petrick, and his beloved wife Nancy, whom he was married to for 26 wonderful years. He has 5 beautiful grandchildren, whom he loved dearly Matthew (Megan), Mackenzie, Daniel, Cailie, and Jack.
A gathering will be 9:30AM to 10:30AM on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. Funeral mass will follow at 11AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
