DeLuca, Joseph R., 85, of Absecon, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2022. Born in Atlantic City and raised in Ducktown, he was a 60-year resident of Absecon. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. Joe was a carpenter, working since the day they opened for Harrah’s Trump Hotel, eventually retiring, after their name change, under Trump Plaza Casino and Hotel in 2001. He also was a cabinet maker, running his own business, DeLuca Cabinets, in Absecon for many years. He was a life member of Absecon VFW #9462, where he served as a member of the honor guard. He was also a life member of the Absecon American Legion Post #28. In his free-time he enjoyed gardening, doing puzzles, watching western movies and fishing. He will be remembered for his homemade sauerkraut. Always rooting for the underdog, he was a fan of the Mets, Jets and the Nets.

Joe is predeceased by his parents, Domenick and Josephine (Paparone) DeLuca; and his sister and brother, Mary and Santo. He’s survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary K. (Dutton) DeLuca; his children, Jeananne (Paul) Attardi and Joseph (Liz) DeLuca; his grandchildren, Anna, JJ and Ashlynn; his niece, Karen (Warren) Rowell and well as many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 10AM to 12PM on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will take place at 12PM.
