June Pugh-Ferreri went to meet her Maker on January 16, 2017. She was a masterpiece. Born March 13, 1951, June had a happy childhood growing up on a farm in Argyle, New York, with her brothers and sisters who loved her dearly. She had a twenty year career in retail management in the Glens Falls and Albany areas and retired in the early nineteen-nineties. She met the love of her life, Gasper Perry Ferreri, moved to Galloway, New Jersey and married Perry in 2001. June enjoyed an active retirement while Perry continued to work as a tailor at Oggi’s at Caesar’s Palace. She led children’s activities in her neighborhood, being recognized for the work she did with the children of Society Hill, the townhome community where she and Perry lived. June was devout Christian and still has many loving friends at Fruitful Vine Christian Church in Clifton Park, New York. June was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1997 and the disease became “primary progressive” in 2013, leading to a valiant three and a half year struggle. Prior to the progression of her disease, she lovingly and selflessly cared for Perry during the onset and advancement of his dementia. All her life, she loved her animals, particularly Emma, a beautiful stray cat that June took in and slept at the foot of June’s bed through her illness, staying by her side to the end. Through her last years she was supported by her devoted caregiver, Rosina Dorfie, and sustained by Fox News. She is survived by her husband Perry, her loving sister, Patti Pugh-Moore and her husband, John Moore, of Louisville, Kentucky and, her brother, Edwin Pugh and his wife Sharon, of Salem, New York as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Pugh, her father George Kenneth Pugh and her mother Martha Pugh.
Friends and family will gather for a viewing at noon, followed by a Memorial Service at Parsels Funeral Home, located at 324 New Jersey Avenue, Absecon on Friday, January 20th. She will be laid to rest after the service at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, 109 Boulevard Rt. 50 in Mays Landing.
