Katherine "Kitty" E. Spicer

SPICER, Katherine E. (Bowen) “Kitty”, 91, of Absecon, went to be with her husband, Bob, peacefully on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Kitty met Bob at the age of 17 and was swept away by him, married for 71 years and had 2 children. Throughout her years, she loved to sew, bake, bowl and go boating. She always had a bowl of M&M’s on the table, to share with ANYONE who came in the house. Kitty was an avid Philly Sports fan. She worked at the SJ Gas Company in the 1950’s, after staying home raising her children, she then worked at the Absecon Public Schools where she retired from Cafeteria Director. She is predeceased by her parents, James and Lillian Bowen; brother, Russell Bowen; and her sister, Elizabeth Bowen and husband Bob. Kitty is survived by her children, Donna (Michael) Pyle and Bob (Tami) Spicer; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Paul) Pencola, Kristi and Bobby Spicer, great-grandchildren, Autumn and Robert Jaegly and Matthew and Luke Pencola. A visitation will be 6pm to 8pm, with a service starting at 7:30pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave, Absecon. On Thursday, January 20, 2022, a graveside burial service will be held at 11:00am at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estelle Manor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
