Kol Rroku Nick Elezovic, 71, of Absecon, NJ, passed away suddenly on January 25, 2024. He was born on May 9, 1952 in Stoj, Ulcinj, Yugoslavia, where he grew up until he came to the United States in his early 20s. He then resided in Bronx, NY, where he began his long and successful career in the restaurant industry. It was during this time he was introduced to his future wife, Karolina. They were married on May 15, 1976, and remained married until his death, just shy of his 72nd birthday, and their 48th wedding anniversary.
After leaving the Bronx and having short residencies in Michigan and Virginia, Nick, Karolina, and their three daughters Christina, Kathryn and Suzanna moved to Brigantine, NJ in 1990. During this time, Nick, an avid golfer, became the golf pro at the Brigantine Golf Links, where he also started the highly popular Junior Golf Club. Nick also continued his career in the restaurant industry where, after running the Poker Room, he oversaw the development of the highly successful restaurant floor of the Trump Taj Mahal. After he left the casino industry, he opened the Sheraton Atlantic City. He then moved to the final leg of his career as a manager of many successful Applebee's restaurants. It was in 1997 when Nick and his family moved from Brigantine to Absecon, where he lived until his death.
Nick was an extremely hard worker and instilled that work ethic into his daughters. He loved to golf, hunt, fish, and above all else, spending time with his wife, daughters and six beloved grandchildren.
Nick is predeceased by his father, Rrok Toma Elezovic; his mother, Dilja Elezovic (Selcanin); and sister, Age Kalaj (Elezovic). He is survived by his wife, Karolina; daughters, Christina, Kathryn and Suzanna; as well as his grandchildren, Alexander, Solange, Palina, Josefina, Thomas and Mackinley. He is also survived by his brothers, Gjeto (Tereze), Nosh (the late Dila), Toma (Manda), Noci (Lila); and his sisters, Marija (Toma) and Filja (Pjeter), as well as his many beloved nephews and nieces.
Nick was the foundation of his family and his sudden passing is heartbreaking to us all. He will be forever loved and greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation for Nick will be held 9AM to 10:45AM on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 followed by the funeral mass at 11am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave, Absecon, NJ 08201. The burial will be held after mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5061 Harding HWY, Mays Landing, NJ 08330. Flowers for the family may be sent to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and online condolences may be placed at www.parselsfh.com.
